RV Roger Vardy Stockwood

About

Over 55 years of walnut stock blank production.

Roger Vardy's lifelong interest in firearms and his desire for quality stockwood led him to source and cut his own walnut timber for gunstock blanks.

Roger began cutting walnut timber in 1966 and has built up a large inventory of quality walnut gunstock blanks. The work is controlled from tree through to stock blank, with emphasis on stable timber, strong figure, and grain flow through the finished stock.

"It is this dedication to detail which gives him his enviable world-wide reputation."

Tree to Blank

Each blank is selected and prepared with attention to grain flow, figure, colour, density, and the practical requirements of a finished stock.

Long Seasoning

Mature English walnut is carefully seasoned for over 10 years, helping each blank settle before it is selected for stockmaking.

Roger Vardy Stockwood supplies individual makers, collectors, and gunmakers in Australia and overseas, with advice available for selecting the right blank.
